THINK 2019 was a fabulous opportunity for IBM Transformation Extender to catch up with many of you, and for us to give you insider insight into our new product vision.
For any who missed THINK this year I’ll explain (my perspective on) the ‘event’. While it is a ‘trade show’ with a convention floor large enough to require careful consideration of footwear choices– there were three OTHER critical things that happened–
(1) Pre-THINK Community Meetings - Customer Advisory Council (CAC) breakout for ITX participants to see ‘innovation roadmap’ and ask us questions in a group. Hear our vision of the future of ITX and see how other customers respond to that.
(2) Customer presentations and one on one meetings with customers – Hear other customers’ success stories with the product.
(3) One-on-one meetings with customers, meetings with IBM and external partners, future customers and industry experts. Get the individual questions answered – for those questions you do not want to ask publicly.
Highlights of ITX @ THINK 2019 included content in sessions from Amerisource Bergen Corporation (ABC) and Presbyterian Hospital. Through these and other sessions and meetings our customers gained insight into our upcoming releases and we gained a view into where our customers expect that are going with ever evolving technology.
One of the great things about THINK is that in addition to all of the above – there are always great informal exchanges of ideas. I learned of a customer concerned about NACHA and ISO20022 while waiting in a hallway for an unrelated session; found an interesting cross-product opportunity while waiting for a keynote to start; gained insight into a partner’s offerings at an evening reception. For me, that type of learning is just as useful as the formal sessions.
Post-THINK I have two wishes: (1) That next year we have even more customers at the Council meetings and (2) that this forum area become livelier and provide more opportunities for informal learning for you and for the ITX team.
